TOPEKA—Nicholas "Lil' Nick" Thompson, 15, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Topeka. He was born on August 21, 1998 in Topeka.

Nick had lived in Topeka and Lyndon most of his life. He was a freshman at Topeka West High School.

Nick was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Cox, and a step sister, Michelle Perkins.

He is survived by his parents, Craig and Hope Cox Brosius, of Topeka; three siblings, Katelynn Oakman, Cody Oakman and Jarred Oakman, all of the home; a step brother, Robert Perkins, of Houston; a nephew, Ryland Perkins, of Houston; grandmother, Nola Cox, of Topeka; great-grandparents, Howard and Carol Thompson, of Osage City; and a large extended family.

Nick had chosen to be an organ donor, and by that, he has become a hero to his family.

Funeral services for Nick will be at 2 p.m. on Jan. 16 at the Fellowship Bible Church, at 10th and Urish Rd. in Topeka. Burial will be in the Carbondale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Feltner Funeral Home, in Lyndon.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to the Nicholas Thompson Memorial Fund, to be designated later, and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS. 66451.
