Stephen Philip King

POMONA — Stephen Philip King, Pomona, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at his home. He was 69.

He was born Monday, June 29, 1949, at Kansas City, Mo., the son of Philip H. and Novella Faye Larson King.

He was a lifelong Franklin County resident.

Phyllis Lee Willard

Feb. 21, 1925 – Aug. 25, 2018

AUBURN — Phyllis Lee Willard, Auburn, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018. She was 93.

She was born Feb. 21, 1925, at Burlingame, the only daughter of Stuart Oscar and Oma Frances Phillips Tindell.

She married Dean Elden Willard March 27, 1949, at Topeka. He preceded her in death in 1992.

She graduated from Burlingame High School in 1942 and worked for Santa Fe Railroad where she met Dean. They moved to Auburn in 1951.

Fern Rich

April 24, 1923 – Aug. 15, 2018

TROUTVILLE, Va. — Fern E. Rich, Overbrook, died Aug. 15, 2018. She was 95.

Memorial service will be Sept 28 at Rainbow Forest Baptist Church, Troutville, Va.

Edith M. Montgomery

Oct. 25, 1926 – Aug. 21, 2018

BURLINGAME — Edith M. Montgomery, Burlingame, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018 at an Osage City nursing home. She was 91.

She was born Oct. 25, 1926 at Belvue, the daughter of Gallus and Maud Archbold Voelker. She graduated from Maple Hill High School. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

She married Ivan L. Montgomery on May 1, 1950. He preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1991. She was also preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy Voelker.

Richard "Rich" L. Taylor

BURLINGAME — Richard "Rich" L. Taylor, Burlingame, died on Aug. 21, 2018. He was 68.

Cloyce Duane Thornbrugh

July 6, 1923 - Aug. 21, 2018

OTTAWA — Cloyce Duane Thornbrugh died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018 at the Olathe Hospice House. He was 95.

He was born on July 6, 1923 in Quenemo, the son of John and Nina Creviston Thornbrugh. He grew up near Quenemo and lived there and Waverly before moving to Ottawa.

Olive June Greene Meggison

Olive June Greene Meggison

TOPEKA — Olive June Greene Meggison of Topeka died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, at Lexington Park Health and Rehab, Topeka. She was 89.

She was born July 3, 1929 in Murry, Neb., the daughter of Joseph Newton Greene and Stella Pike Greene. She grew up and attended schools in Union, Neb.

On December 28, 1936 she was united in marriage to Donald Lee Meggison. They shared over 44 years of marriage before the death of her husband on Nov. 23, 1990.

She worked for AT&T in Topeka, where she mapped out phone lines.

William Tillman

Nov. 2, 1953 – Aug. 13, 2018

EL DORADO — William "Bill" Tillman died Monday, Aug. 13, 2018 at his home in El Dorado. He was 64.

He was born Nov. 2, 1953, at Topeka, the son of John and June Miller Tillman. He grew up in Vassar and graduated from Lyndon High School in 1971. He lived and raised his family in Leon and was in El Dorado for the last several years.

Doris Mae Harris Braunbeck

Aug. 2, 1933 – Aug. 12, 2018

TOPEKA — Doris Mae Harris Braunbeck, Carbondale, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka, surrounded by family and friends. She was 85.

She was born Aug. 2, 1933, the daughter of Richard and Nina Harris, Auburn.

She married Donald Braunbeck Oct. 15, 1955. They were married for 51 years before his passing.

Dorothy Faye Arnold Montgomery

March 1, 1924 – Aug. 10, 2018

WICHITA - Dorothy Faye Arnold Montgomery passed into eternal life at 7:35 p.m. Aug. 10, 2018, at Wichita, with loving family at her side. She was 94.

She was born March 1, 1924, on a farm near Wakefield, the daughter of Thomas R. Arnold and Susie Manley Arnold. She resided in Clay, Shawnee and Osage counties as a child.
