OVERBROOK — Larry Keith Swanson died March 23, 2017, at Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook. He was 76.

He was born March 30, 1940, on the family farm near Melvern, the son of Charles A. and Elizabeth E. Dillard Swanson.

Gary Lee Wilhite

July 3, 1939 – Feb. 7, 2017

READING — Gary Lee Wilhite died Feb. 7, 2017, at his Reading home. He was 77.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2 to 4 p.m. April 8 at Reading Community Center, Reading.

Karen Jean Fiebiger

Aug. 2, 1940 – March 24, 2017

OSAGE CITY — Karen Jean Fiebiger died March 24, 2017, at Vintage Park of Osage City, Osage City. She was 76.

She was born Aug. 2, 1940, at Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Mervin Lester and Hazel LaVonne Hilton Oleson. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1958.

She was a teacher’s aide. She was an member of Grace Lutheran Church, Osage City.

Mary Ann Warner

April 10, 1929 – March 24, 2017

TOPEKA — Mary Ann Warner, Topeka, died March 24, 2017. She was 87.

She was born April 10, 1929, at Osage City, the daughter of Andrew B. and Esther A. Rich Nelson.

She was a 1947 graduate of Lyndon High School, attended Washburn University, and Clark’s Business College.

She was blessed to be a homemaker that allowed her to care for her family. She was a longtime member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, American Legion, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid KU fan and enjoyed watching sports of all kinds.

Rosella E. Krautkremer Riesgraf

Jan. 22, 1922 – March 15, 2017

BELLE PLAINE, Minn. — Rosella E. Krautkremer Riesgraf, Belle Plaine, Minn., died March 15, 2017, at The Lutheran Home, Belle Plaine, Minn. She was 95.

She was born Jan. 22, 1922, in Helena Township, Scott County, Minn. the daughter of Nick and Christina Lambrecht Krautkremer. She attended school at St. Benedict, Minn., and was raised in the St. Benedict area.

She married Severin Riesgraf May 14, 1946, at St. Benedict, Minn. The couple farmed outside of Union Hill until the mid-1980’s. They latter moved to New Prague, Minn.

Ernestine “Erni” J. Muzzy

February 1, 1928 – February 27, 2017

GOTHENBURG, Neb. — Ernestine “Erni” J. Muzzy, age 89, formerly of Lawrence, died February 27, 2017 at Gothenburg, Nebraska.

Ella Loraine Bishop McNabb

July 24, 1924 — March, 18, 2017

TOPEKA — Ella Loraine Bishop McNabb passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 in Topeka. She was born in Coley’s Point, Newfoundland, Canada, July 24, 1924 the daughter of Isaac and Belle Bishop. On February 16, 1951, she was married to US Navy Chief Petty Officer, Lawrence Lester McNabb (originally of Melvern) in Norfolk, VA.

Richard Dean Allison

May 30, 1946 – March 14, 2017

OSAGE CITY — Richard Dean Allison, 70, of Osage City, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Midland Hospice in Topeka. Dick grew up in Topeka and the surrounding area, graduating from Shawnee Heights High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Marine Reserves Infantry Company as Gunnery Sergeant from 1966 to 1980. Dick received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 1980 and Associates in Legal Assistances in 1984 both from Washburn University.

Tyler James Baker

August 2, 1993 – March 7, 2017

Tyler James Baker, 23, formerly of Carbondale passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017, in Lakewood, WA.

Tyler was born to Brent Baker and Barbara (Hill) Baker on August 2, 1993, in Topeka.

He attended Santa Fe Trail High School and Washburn Rural High School and received his General Education Degree from Washburn Institute of Technology in 2011.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on August 11, 2015 and was currently assigned to the “A” Company, 610 Engineer Support BN, 555th Engineer Group, Ft. Lewis, WA.

Billie D. Berry

December 26, 1950 – February 25, 2017

Billie D. “Bill” Berry, 66, of Florence, passed away on February 25, 2017, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, after a battle with cancer.

Bill was born on December 26, 1950, on the family farm near Harveyville to Chet and Flora Berry. Bill graduated from Harveyville High School in 1968. During his life, Bill worked a variety of jobs but his two favorites were logging and driving trucks for ranchers. One of his biggest attributes was his willingness to help family and friends any way he could.
