Glenn Michael Amos

Sept. 23, 1922 – July 9, 2014

ENID, Okla.—Glenn Michael Amos, formally of Burlingame, died July 9, 2014, at Enid, Okla. He was 91.

He was born Sept. 23, 1922, at Burlingame, the son of Charles G. and Irene Michael Amos. He was a lifelong farmer in Osage County.

He was a member of the Burlingame Federated Church, where he served in many different rolls, Sunday School superintendent, board member, board chairman and many other committees. He also served on the Burlingame Township Board, and the COOP board of directors.

Donna Teehee

July 11, 2014

Donna Teehee, Oskaloosa, died July 11, 2014. She was 72.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Eugene and Carmel McPherson, Lawrence McPherson and Garry McPherson.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Teehee, Oskaloosa; five children, Dean and Sherry Grienke, Berryton, Dottie and Perry Mauer, Carbondale, Danny Grienke, Carbondale, Cindy and Mike Vannordstrand, Tecumseh, and Becky and Randy Curran, Carbondale; six grandchildren; and lots of nieces and nephews.

Gary D. DeShazer

Jan. 9, 1945—July 8, 2014

SCRANTON—Gary D. DeShazer, Scranton, died July 8 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was 69.

He was born Jan. 9, 1945 at Emporia, the son of James Chester and Helen Sparks DeShazer.

He married Sandra Watson Feb. 20, 1965 in a double wedding with Bob and Sadie Day.

Wilford Dean Croucher

Aug. 2, 1935—July 9, 2014

OSAGE CITY—Wilford Dean Croucher, Osage City, died July 9, 2014, south of Osage City. He was 78.

He was born August 2, 1935 at Burlingame, the son of William Earl and Ethel V. (Davis) Croucher.

He worked for Carl and Earl Meyer for the majority of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and seven brothers.

He is survived by a sister, Evelyn Edelen, Scranton, and many nieces and nephews.

Clyde Richard Files

Sept. 3, 1929—July 7, 2014

LYNDON—Clyde Richard Files died July 7, 2014 at the Olathe Medical Center. He was 84.

“Dick,” as he was known to most, was born Sept. 3, 1929 at Dennison, Ill., the son of Clyde and Juanita Snedeker Files.

He had lived in Augusta, Ga. for 39 years before moving to Lyndon.

Winifred J. Lambeth

June 16, 1922 – July 8, 2014

OSAGE CITY—Winifred “Winnie” J. Spicer Lambeth, 92, Osage City, died July 8, 2014 at an Osage City nursing home.

She was born June 16, 1922 in the Buttermilk Lane area, south of Harveyville, the daughter of Knute E. and Anna E. Fisher Newton. She spent all of her married life in the Osage community.

Ted Davis

May 1, 1923 – July 4, 2014

CENTRAILIA—Ted Davis, 91, Osage City, died July 4 at the Eastridge Nursing Facility in Centralia.

He was born May 1, 1923, on the family farm near Osage City, the son of Lawrence and Madge Hurle Davis. Ted attended the Elkahira School as a young boy and later went on to attend Osage City High School where he lettered in football.

He was joined in marriage to Patricia Leighty in 1942. They moved to the family farm south of Osage City where they remained until 2003 when they moved into Osage City due to health concerns.

Evelyn Lucille Lawhorn

Oct. 29, 1937 – June 29, 2014

TOPEKA—Evelyn Lucille Lawhorn, Melvern, died June 29, 2014, at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was 76.

She was born on Oct. 29, 1937, on the family farm near Lyndon, the daughter of Charles and Esther Odor Lininger. She lived most of her life in or near the Melvern community.

She graduated from Melvern High School in 1955. She worked for Capper’s Weekly, Hallmark Cards, Jostens and was a homemaker. She attended the Melvern United Methodist Church and the True Grace Community Church.

Nelden Dale Cain

Aug. 17, 1958 – June 27, 2014

TOPEKA—Nelden Dale Cain, Osage City, died June 27, 2014, at Stormont-Vail HealthCare, Topeka. He was 55.

He was born Aug. 17, 1958, at Holton, the son of Stella Holler and John Cain Sr. He lived in Topeka, Lyndon and Vassar before moving to Osage City two years ago.

He graduated from Seaman High School. He worked for Brad Ragan Tire, Topeka, and had been a floor covering installer for Marv’s and Feltner Floors and Furniture, Lyndon, for many years. He was a member of Lyndon Baptist Church and then Flint Hills Baptist Church, Osage City.

James E. Briggs

July 28, 1958 – June 27, 2014

LAWRENCE—James E. Briggs, Lawrence, died June 20, 2014, of complications from over 50 years of diabetes. He was 55.

He was born July 28, 1958, at Topeka, the son of Dean E. and Lyla Rae Leishman Briggs. He graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School in 1976.

He married Donna Duncan in 1980. They later divorced.
