Bill Estes

May 29, 1928 – Nov. 15, 2014

OSAGE CITY— Billy Dale Estes died Nov. 15, 2014, at his home south of Osage City. He was 86.

He was born May 29, 1928, near Admire, the son of Frank and Florence Lewis Estes. He attended Admire High School and graduated with the class of 1945.

He was inducted into the U.S. Army on Nov. 28, 1950, and proudly served until being honorably discharged on Nov. 27, 1952. He attended the Veterans Honor Flight to Washington in the spring of 2013.

Claron Ray Yates

July 15, 1956 – Nov. 13, 2014

GARNETT—Claron Ray Yates, Garnett, died Nov. 13, 2014. He was 58.

He was born July 15, 1956, at Garnett, the son of John H. and Murriell Walter Yates. He grew up in the Greely area and graduated from Garnett High School.

He moved to Houston, Texas, working at Exxon Mobile. He then worked in law enforcement in Garnett and Osage City. He recently retired from Overbrook, USD 434 after 16 years of service.

Daisy Lee Marcy

July 18, 1931 – Nov. 11, 2014

OSAGE CITY—Daisy Lee Marcy, 83, Osage City, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11 in a Topeka hospital.

She was born July 18, 1931, at Newberry, S.C., the daughter of Charlie and Lillie Caughman. She grew up in Newberry and attended the Newberry schools.

She married Harry S. Marcy, Oct. 21, 1961, at Columbia, S.C. They moved to the Osage City community in 1983. She was a long time member of the Osage City Baptist Temple.
Harry proceeded her in death July 26, 2003.

Berna Dee Bradley

Sept. 24, 1946 – Nov. 9, 2014

BLUE MOUND—Berna Dee Bradley, Blue Mound, died Nov. 9, 2014. She was 68.

She was born Sept. 24, 1946, at Moran, the daughter of Clarence and Helen Emmons Townsley. She was a graduate of Blue Mound High School and Allen County Community College.

She married Tom Bradley Sept. 9, 1966. He survives.

Angela Renee’ Bisceglia

April 26, 1964 – Nov. 6, 2014

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Angela Renee’ Bisceglia, Kingsville, Mo., Nov. 6, 2014, at a Kansas City, Mo. hospital. She was 50.

She was born April 26, 1964, at Bethany, Mo., the daughter of Edward and Sandra Jarrett Wells. She worked as a beautician.

She married Eddie Bisceglia Feb. 3, 1996, at Kansas City, Mo. He survives of the home.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Florence Wells and Gerald and Rosalie Jarrett.

Mary Joan Fry

Aug. 25, 1922 – Nov. 2, 2014

OSAGE CITY—Mary Joan Fry died Nov. 2, 2014, at Vintage Park, Osage City. She was 92.

She was born Aug. 25, 1922, at Yates Center, the daughter of Thomas A. and Anna E. Eisenbart Fry. She graduated from Yates Center High School in 1941 and attended the University of Oklahoma.

She moved to Bartlesville, Okla., to work for Phillips Petroleum Company. She worked for the company for 43 years in sales from June 18, 1942 to Aug. 1, 1985. She moved to Osage City in 2013, to be closer to her sister, Virginia.

Leon K. Falk

Jan. 7, 1940 – Nov. 1, 2014

TOPEKA—Leon K. Falk, Burlingame, died Nov. 1, 2014, at a Topeka hospital. He was 74.

He was born Jan. 7, 1940, at Concordia, the son of Lloyd and Ethel Anderson Falk. He graduated from Montrose High School and attended Fort Hays State University.

He started work in 1961 for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and retired after 38 years of service. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking, horseshoes, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He married Judy Tucker June 25, 1961, at Ionia. She survives at the home.

Lars Brant Allen

May 21, 1963 – Oct. 27, 2014

OMAHA, Neb.—Lars Brant Allen, Ottawa, died Oct. 27, 2014, at Methodist Hospital, Omaha, Neb. He was 51.

He was born May 21, 1963, at Emporia, the son of Gerald Allen and Joanne Street Allen. He graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School in 1981, and Salina Area Technical College in 1983. Salina Area Technical College later merged with Kansas State University.

Alice F. Wheeler

April 15, 1937 – Oct. 25, 2014

GARNETT—Alice F. Wheeler, Garnett, died Oct. 25, 2014, at Guest Home Estates, Garnett. She was 77.

She was born April 15, 1937, ay Harris, the daughter of Frank and Blanche Farrar Weatherbie. She grew up in Lane, attending schools in Greeley and Lane. She earned her GED in Chanute. She later moved to Ottawa, Quenemo and then Garnett.

She married Joe Kraus in October 1953. They were later divorced. She married Wilmer Wheeler Dec. 9, 1979, at Lyndon. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2010.

Edith Croucher

Feb. 18, 1921 ¬– Oct. 24, 2014

OSAGE CITY—Edith “Lorena” Croucher, Peterton, north of Osage City, died Oct. 24, 2014, at her home. She was 93.

She was born Feb. 18, 1921, northeast of Burlingame, the daughter of Gillio and Edith Vandevord Succi. As a young girl, she attended school at Pleasant Valley School No. 37.

She married Dannie M. Croucher Aug. 7, 1940, at Lyndon. He preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1993.
