John W. "Jack" Droege Jr.,

Oct. 11, 1942 – Sept. 24, 2019

AUBURN — John W. "Jack" Droege Jr., 76, Scranton, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, at Homestead of Auburn. He was 76.

He was born Oct. 11, 1942, at Topeka, the son of John William and Madge Pauline Phillips Droege. He graduated from Burlingame High School in 1960.

He married Linda L. Wagoner, Feb. 27, 1965. She preceded him in death on Sept. 5, 1994. He later married Norma Ruth Calcote, Oct. 3, 1998. She survives of the home.

Besides his wife, he is survived by, two sons, Brian Droege and wife, Christi, Burlingame, and Chad Droege and wife, Melissa, Burlingame; four step-children, David Murray and wife, Susie, Plano, Texas, Terry Pack and husband, Norman, Jacksonville, Fla., Don Hand and wife, Dawn, Kansas City, Mo., and Larry Hand, Topeka; a sister, Mary Jolene "Jody" Meyer, New Berlin, Ill.; six grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Osage City. Burial will follow at Burlingame Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church where a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
