Reva Warren Purcell

TOPEKA — Reva Purcell died Monday, Dec. 24, 2018, at Midland Care, Topeka.

She was born July 22, 1920, in Osage County, the daughter of John James and Sarah Jane Basel Warren . She attended school in Osage County and graduated from Topeka High School in 1939.

She married Santford "Stan" M. Purcell June 27, 1941, at Lawrence. They enjoying 70 years together prior to his death on July 3, 2011.

Charles Beatty

Dec. 5, 1931 – Jan. 7, 2019

LYNDON — Charles Beatty died Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at his home in Lyndon. He was 87.

He was born Dec. 5, 1931, at Lyndon, the son of David Carl and Vesta Burkdoll Beatty.

He lived most of his life in Lyndon, except for two years in Lawton, Okla. He graduated from Lyndon High School in 1951. He served in U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 at Ft. Sill.

He married Viola Mickelson June 6, 1953, at Garnett. She survives.

Daniel Robert Towle

June 12, 1962 – Jan. 7, 2019

TOPEKA — Daniel Robert Towle, Hartford, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at Rolling Hills Assisted Living, Topeka. He was 56.

He was born June 12, 1962, at Topeka, the son of James A. and Roberta A. Sparks Towle. He grew up in Osage City. He was disabled and lived in Hartford, under the care of Quest Services for many years. He was living at Rolling Hills Assisted Living for a few months.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James “Chris” Towle.

Lolita Lucille Laubach

Sept. 17, 1924 – Jan. 6, 2019

TOPEKA — Lolita Lucille Laubach, Topeka, formerly of Scranton, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at McCrite Care Center, Topeka. She was 94.

She was born Sept. 17, 1924, at Olsburg, the daughter of Le Roy and Elsie Toothaker Warthen. She moved to Wheaton when she was six months old. She graduated from Wheaton High School.

She attended Clark's Business School, Topeka and was employed by Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company as a cashier from 1943 to 1953.

Marilyn Adkins

Oct. 31, 1937 – Jan. 5, 2019

EMPORIA — Marilyn “Joan” Adkins died early Saturday morning, Jan. 5, 2019, at Emporia Place. She was 81.

She was born Oct. 31, 1937, at Brewster, the daughter of Marion A. and Vera J. Lowe Tucker. She attended high school in Hayward, Calif., and graduated from Hayward High School with class of 1955. Following high school, she joined U.S. Navy and received nursing training while serving.

Shirley Nadine Parks

April 5, 1931 – Jan. 5, 2019

TOPEKA — Shirley Nadine Parks, beloved wife of Lawrence E. Parks, Miller, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka, surrounded by her family. She was 81.

She was born April 5, 1931, daughter of Ed and Fern Johnson, Miller. She graduated from Miller High School in 1949.

She worked as a nurse aid before marrying her high school sweetheart, Lawrence, March 26, 1950. They were married in the house where she lived until her passing. He survives.
